Q: How did you decide to participate in this year’s Bike to the Beach event? Do you have a connection to our cause?
A: Getting involved with Bike to the Beach this year all started with the mission to get Post & Beam Design/ Build engaged in something that mattered to the community. We wanted to do something that we knew would be a good challenge for us and would support the autism and disabilities community. It is me and my brother Kyle that are doing the bike ride. We are both employees of Post and Beam, but are new to road biking long distances. We will participate in the 50-mile bike ride and fundraise for this cause. The company has agreed to match up to 800 dollars of the donations we bring in! This is a cause that is close to our hearts because a few of us have extended family members with autism. It gives us a great sense of joy to do something we know will make a difference in their lives.
Q: What is Post & Beam Design/Build’s business? How long has the company been around? What is your role there?
A: Post & Beam Design/Build is a construction company local to Harford County, Maryland. We have been in business for over 35 years doing anywhere from small to large-scale home remodel jobs. We have remodeled many kitchens, porches, bathrooms, living rooms, etc. Post & Beam values our customers and can transform any space in a house into something they will love! My role is doing their marketing and any work in the office that I can be of assistance with. This includes running our social media on Facebook and Instagram, @pbdesignbuild, designing postcards, and getting our company involved in fundraisers like Bike to the Beach!
Q: Why is it important for Post & Beam to be involved in community engagement? How does that impact your business and its connection to customers?
A: We truly care about our community and see value in forming great connections with those who decide to work with us. We want our customers to know that we care and that we can be trusted with their dreams for their homes. Because of this, we have plenty of customers that come back to us for every remodel job.
