All across the country, Bike to the Beach has partnered with amazing non-profit agencies.  Their specific goals vary, but we are all connected by the overall mission of supporting the autism and disABILITIES community.  During this time of social distancing, our routines and daily schedules have been interrupted, but the work of our non-profits is ongoing.  Our partners continue to find innovative ways to reach the individuals in their programs.  Join us as we follow along in their journeys and remember why we Bike to the Beach! 

Life’s Worc supports people with autism and developmental disABILITIES and autism through Residential and Community Services, The Family Center for Autism, and Financial and Trust Services.  They were able to Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness Month by baking some delicious cookies and pampering themselves with at home manicures!  

Crossroads School educates students with autism, ages 3-22, in a bright day-school environment. Using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, their programs are individualized to meet each student’s needs.  Crossroads won’t let a little social distancing keep them from celebrating their students!  They have hosted a Social DisDance Celebration, celebrated Autism Awareness Month, and are busy creating COVID-19 time capsules with their students. 

Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society of America (NSASA) is a parent-run organization, which supports individuals with autism through free educational, social, and recreational opportunities. The group’s goal is to provide positive experiences for families in a non-judgmental, welcoming environment.  While currently unable to organize their more typical events such as rollerskating, movie screenings or luncheons, they have been able to virtually support their families with events like their Tea & Meditation Discussion and virtual yoga classes.
